“Rejoice in the Lord always: and AGAIN I say, Rejoice.” ~ Philippians 4:4
Just heard an old hymn ministered on TBN …
Pastor Smokie Norful sang,
We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us AGAIN.
Wow! Such a powerful prayer in song.
We don’t sing the old hymns like we used to.
They are the songs that express our hearts, the deep cries of our
hearts to God.
When you sing them again and again, they touch you in the same way.
The healing way, the soothing way, the compelling way.
Again and again, they minister of God’s great love and His tender care
for us … of His Amazing Grace.
Giving us a Blessed Assurance that He is there for us.
Again and again, they minister to the hidden hurts, the scary places
that He is there saying, Peace Be Still.
Again and again, in the Blessed Quietness, the billows cease to roll.
Again and again, we can come to Him, whispering, Lord, I Surrender All.
And again and again we know ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus.
And one day we shall see Him Up In Our Heavenly Home.
In the meantime, until you come AGAIN for Your Church,
Dear Lord, please revive us AGAIN. *Q
Bless you!

You are so right, we don’t always sing them like we used to. I love being nostalgic and singing old hymns and getting lost in the Lord, praising and worshiping Him!
Great Post!
Amen, Savannah! Nothing like the genuine worship experience singing the old hymns, psalms and spiritual songs.
I need Thee every hour most precious, Lord … Amen.
God bless you … Thanks for the visit and the comment.
I love hymns and wish they were sung more often. Reading this has got me thinking of my favorite ones. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh yes Tiffany
How about the Blood songs? Yes.
God bless!
You’ve definitely tugged my heart strings with this one. I’m all about powerful words and powerful prayer in song. I’m singing that song in my head over and over again. So, thank you. Loved your post!
Yay! Thanks Tanya … Sometimes all we need is a song. Blessings,
Amen, amen.
Oh yeah, the hymns are the best – filled with power and meaning and often a true balm of Gilead. Great post!
Beautiful post. I love singing hymns to the Lord! The louder I sing, the better my soul feels. Thankfully, the Lord doesn’t care that I sing off-key LOL Thanks for following me, will follow you back.
Blessings,
Patty
Phyllis, this is just awesome. I was just singing to Him with my little ones today. Bless you and thank you for this prompt to SING!
Hymns are wonderful, aren’t they? And I really like how you describe them…especially how they “minister of God’s great love and His tender care for us … of His Amazing Grace.” Love it!
